How to play online — DOSBox Screen Mirror

Rise of the Robots uses DOSBox Screen Mirror Netplay in the IPX Web Lobby. This is a shared-screen session, not a native IPX multiplayer connection. The host runs the DOS game in DOSBox and shares its video with joining players; player input is sent to the host.

The lobby specifies UDP for input and TCP for video. Open the required ports in your firewall/router. Coordinate the game session and control hand-offs with the other players in the room.

How to Enter Cheats in Rise of the Robots (PC / MS-DOS)

To unlock the cheat engine and play as characters other than the standard Cyborg, you need to input specific keyboard sequences either at the Main Menu or during the Character Select / Versus screen.

1. Master Character Unlock Cheat (Play as any Robot)

By default, player one is forced to play as the Cyborg. To unlock the Supervisor, Military, Loader, Gorilla, Builder, or Sentry robots for both players:

1. Start the game and wait for the Main Menu (One Player, Two Player, Training, etc.).
2. Type gimmeall quickly on your keyboard (there is no text box, so just type it cleanly).
3. If done correctly, you can now cycle through all robots on the character selection screen in both Single Player and Versus modes.

2. Secret Configuration & Debug Menu

To access the hidden developer options and modify gameplay settings:

1. At the Main Menu, type config on your keyboard.
2. A hidden menu will appear on your screen, allowing you to toggle:

• God Mode (Invincibility for testing)
• Hyper Speed (Speeds up the frame animations)
• Hitbox Display (Shows 2D collision boxes for attacks)
• Stage Select (Allows you to choose your combat arena)
