How to play online — DOSBox Screen Mirror

International Tennis Open uses DOSBox Screen Mirror Netplay in the IPX Web Lobby. This is a shared-screen session, not a native IPX multiplayer connection. The host runs the DOS game in DOSBox and shares its video with joining players; player input is sent to the host.

The lobby specifies UDP for input and TCP for video. Open the required ports in your firewall/router. Coordinate the game session and control hand-offs with the other players in the room.

This is a 2 player game.

How to Enter Cheats in International Tennis Open (PC / MS-DOS)

International Tennis Open is a classic multimedia tennis simulation that does not feature a built-in cheat console or traditional typing text codes (such as automatic wins or power-ups).

Because the game relies heavily on real-time rotoscoped CD-ROM video playback and animations, cheating or modifying the game is strictly limited to core gameplay exploits and external save game manipulation.

Essential Gameplay Strategy & Exploits:

• The Net Rush Exploit (Easy Points) – Due to the limitations of the early AI engine, the most effective way to guarantee points against fictional opponents is to charge the net immediately after a strong serve. Volleying the ball quickly to the opposite side of where the opponent is running easily breaks their tracking logic.
• Surface Advantage – You can easily manipulate the difficulty of the match by matching your playstyle to the court types in Quick Match mode:
• Grass Courts – Maximizes fast serves and rapid volleys (best for net rushing).
• Clay Courts – Significantly slows down the ball, making it easier to return powerful baseline shots from tougher AI opponents.
• Concrete Courts – Offers the most balanced, standard gameplay response.
• Practice Mode Save – Always utilize the Practice Mode before jumping into the main Tournament. The game allows you to check your timing against specific 2D rotoscoped-animated sprites without punishing your tournament ranking profile.
