How to Enter Cheats in Doom (PC / MS-DOS)

To activate cheats in the original Doom, you do not need to open any console window or chat bar. Simply type the codes smoothly on your keyboard while actively playing inside any level.

(Note: When you enter a cheat successfully, a text confirmation will instantly flash at the top of your screen, and the Doomguy's face at the bottom will react—his eyes will turn yellow if you activate God Mode).

Full Cheat List & Descriptions:

• iddqd – Activates God Mode (Full Invincibility—your health stays locked at 100% and you take zero damage from enemies or hazardous slime).
• idkfa – Full Ammo & Keys (Instantly gives you all weapons, maximum ammunition, and all color-coded security keys for the current level).
• idfa – Weapons & Ammo Only (Instantly gives you all weapons and maximum ammunition, but does not grant you the security keys).
• idclip – No Clipping Mode / Wallhack (Allows your character to walk straight through solid walls, doors, and map boundaries. Note: In some very early versions of Doom 1, use idspispopd instead).
• idchoppers – Chainsaw Unlock (Instantly replaces your fists with the Chainsaw weapon).
• idbeholds – Spawns the Berserk pack power-up (Boosts your fist damage massively and tints the screen red).
• idbeholdv – Spawns the Invulnerability power-up (Turns the screen white and makes you temporarily invincible).
• idbeholdi – Spawns the Partial Invisibility power-up (Makes your character translucent, causing enemies to miss their shots).
• idbeholda – Spawns the Computer Area Map power-up (Fully reveals the complete map layout).
• idbeholdr – Spawns the Radiation Shielding Suit power-up (Protects you from damaging toxic slime and lava floors).
• idbeholdl – Spawns the Light Amplification Visor power-up (Illuminates all dark and pitch-black areas of the level).
• idclev – Level Select / Warp (Allows you to instantly warp to any level; type the code followed by the Episode and Mission number, e.g., type idclev13 to warp straight to Episode 1, Mission 3).
• iddt – Automap Hack (Type this while looking at your full-screen map to reveal the whole layout. Type it a second time to display all enemy and item positions on the map in real-time).
• idmypos – Displays your character's exact hexadecimal map coordinates in the upper-left corner.
